On June 18th, 2020 the United States Supreme Court ruled in favor of "Dreamers", finding that the termination of DACA was not lawful. The DACA program provides eligible undocumented immigrants with temporary protection from deportation and access to work authorization.

This decision means that the DACA program will continue. If you had DACA, you may be eligible to renew. If you believe you are DACA eligible but never previously applied, you may be eligible to file a first-time application.

You can contact ActionNYC:

  • For free, confidential, immigration legal help
  • To ask questions about the DACA program
  • To seek legal assistance in renewing your DACA

There may also be funds available to assist with DACA filing fees, subject to availability. You can ask your legal service provider about filing fees during your screening appointment.

In some Spanish speaking countries, the term “notario” describes an individual that has the equivalent of a law degree and is authorized to represent others before the government. In the United States, a notary public does not hold the same authority.

Immigrants should avoid consulting “notarios” for legal advice or application help, as they often make false promises about obtaining a Green Card or U.S. citizenship.
