You can donate to the New York Cares Coat Drive. Homeless shelters, community organizations, and groups assisting people in need will distribute the coats.
Due to COVID-19, New York Cares is encouraging participants to take their collections online this year and donate towards the cost of purchasing a new coat. Every $25 provides a coat and 10 meals for a New Yorker in need.
Donations of new or gently used coats are not being accepted at this time. More information will be available online in the coming weeks. There will be specific safety measures before donating used coats, including laundering the coats prior to drop-off.
