    You can file a complaint about a store in New York City that refuses cash payments. This includes businesses that sell food, such as restaurants and mobile food vendors.

    Cash means U.S. paper currency and coins. Stores must accept cash unless they have a machine to convert cash to a prepaid card. They cannot charge more for paying in cash.

    Report cash payment refusal by a:

    Arcade

    Art supply store

    Barber shop, beauty salon, or nail salon

    Bodega, deli, or convenience store

    Car wash

    Carpet and flooring business

    Clothing, shoe, or accessories store

    Dealer in products for disabilities

    Department store or megastore

    Drug store or pharmacy

    Dry cleaner

    Electronics or appliance repair

    Electronics store

    Employment agency

    Funeral home

    Furniture store

    Gaming cafe

    Garage or parking lot

    Gas station convenience store

    General vendor

    Gift, novelty, or souvenir store

    Hardware store

    Home appliance store

    Jewelry store

    Laundromat

    Mobile food vendor

    Moving company

    Newsstand

    Office supply or stationery store

    Pawnbroker

    Pedicab
