Need something else?

The GetFoodNYC Emergency Home Food Delivery program has ended. The last day for placing a new GetFoodNYC order was Friday, October 1st.

If you are currently a recipient of GetFoodNYC, and you will need food assistance from the City beyond October 2021, you must contact the GetFoodNYC program. GetFoodNYC will be in touch with what programs will be available to you beyond October.

Other food resources are available on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resources and Support page.

If you were in the GetFoodNYC program as of October 1, and you already confirmed with the program that you will continue to need food, your food delivery service will be extended:

  • Through the end of October 2021 if you are over 60 years old
  • Through the end of November 2021 if you are under 60 years old

If you still need food after the GetFoodNYC program extension ends, you can:

If you are age 60 or older, you can also:

If you no longer require delivery from GetFoodNYC, contact the program to cancel your deliveries at nyc.gov/getfood.

You can submit feedback or make a complaint about the GetFoodNYC program. You can:

  • Report that you will need food assistance from the City after the GetFoodNYC program is scheduled to end in October 2021
    • You MUST select “Something Else” as the request type in the feedback form
  • Cancel or change your order no less than 4 days before the order is scheduled to arrive
  • Provide dietary restrictions
    • Please note that GetFoodNYC does not provide medically tailored meals. Meal preference options include Non-Specialty, Kosher, Halal, Vegetarian, Latin or Pan-Asian.
    • Clients observing Lent by abstaining from consuming meat may select the Vegetarian meal preference.
  • Report that your delivery did not arrive
    • If your delivery was scheduled to arrive today but did not, you can make a missed delivery report after 5 PM.
    • Please note that reporting a missed delivery does not automatically issue a new delivery. GetFoodNYC will contact you if a new order needs to be sent before your next scheduled delivery. Make sure to provide an email and/or phone number.
  • Report that your prepared (fresh or frozen) food was damaged and could not be consumed
  • Report missing food
    • Please note that GetFoodNYC provides deliveries in 6 meal increments in two deliveries per week for up to two weeks.
  • Give feedback on the quality of the food
    • Please note that the City sets nutritional guidelines and provides meal preference options. Meals are not tailored to more specific requests.
  • Give feedback on the delivery driver, including complaints and compliments
    • This includes complaints about delivery drivers requesting money or credit card information to complete deliveries. Make sure to include the phone number of the driver who requested this, if available.
  • Change your account information, such as updating a phone number, apartment number or other order detail

Providing an email address with your complaint will help GetFoodNYC process your complaint faster.

Delivery Drivers

By signing up for this service, you agree that GetFoodNYC can share your name, phone number, address, and any access restrictions or instructions (locked outer gate, broken buzzer, etc) with food vendors and delivery drivers working with GetFoodNYC to ensure the food is delivered to you.

GetFoodNYC will never ask for money or credit card information to complete deliveries. If this happens, submit feedback to GetFoodNYC as soon as possible with the phone number of the person who requested this, if available.

Delivery Cancellations

To prevent waste, GetFoodNYC will cancel deliveries when vendors’ drivers report the following scenarios:

  • Delivery was refused by the client
  • Unable to deliver 2 consecutive times
  • Client was not at the location (moved/deceased)
  • Client requested to be removed from program or have their deliveries cancelled

GetFoodNYC will contact clients who have had their deliveries cancelled and offer them an option to continue service.

    TLC Delivery Driver Assistance

Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) drivers no longer serve as delivery drivers for the GetFoodNYC program.

If you were a GetFoodNYC delivery driver licensed by the TLC, you can send questions and concerns to FoodDeliveryPay@tlc.nyc.gov. Make sure to include your TLC identification number in your email.

If you are filing a claim regarding payment issues, you should also include:

    • Dates that you worked delivering food
    • Route ID numbers that you delivered food to (this on your receipt)
    • Any information that you believe is important for your claim

    GetFoodNYC Vendor Delivery Driver Assistance

If you are a delivery driver working for a GetFoodNYC vendor and have questions or concerns, including payment issues, please try to work this out through your employer first before submitting feedback to GetFoodNYC.

When submitting feedback to GetFoodNYC, make sure to include your name and the vendor you work for in the feedback form. GetFoodNYC will alert the employer of your concern.

Submit feedback or file a claim using the GetFoodNYC feedback form.
