Commercial property owners and Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) can apply to install sealed, rodent-proof containers on City property. This is through the Clean Curb pilot program. These containers are for trash and recycling collection.
These containers:
- Keep streets and sidewalks clean and walkable
- Make trash less accessible to rodents and other pests
- Allow for more efficient collections
Clean Curbs participants must purchase, install, and maintain their containers.
Before applying, you should contact the Department of Sanitation (DSNY) to:
- Express interest
- Discuss potential locations
